(Weaver) Givens, age 67, died January 12, 2018, at home in South Bend, IN. Judy was born in Fremont, OH on March 16, 1950, the oldest daughter of James and Lois (Es- cott) Weaver. She graduated from St.

Joseph High School in 1968. Judy was a legal secretary in both Fremont and Toledo, Ohio. She also was the assistant to the Di- rector of Development at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo. She was the Executive Director of the Northwestern Ohio Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (based in Toledo) and later became the Assistant Director of the Greater Michigan Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (based in Saginaw, MI). Judy was also the Walk America Coordinator for the March of Dimes in both Chi- cago, Illinois, and Orlando, Florida.

She was a legal secretary in Jacksonville, FL, and Atlanta, GA, and also worked as a church secretary in Denton TX. In 1990, Judy moved to South Bend. She received her Paralegal certificate from IUSB South Bend in June 1998, and worked as a Paralegal for Attorney Michael C. Murphy from 1993 to 2004. She also worked for Attorney James Kuehl from 2005 until her retirement in 2011.

She worked part-time from July 2008, until May 2009, as a greeter at Walmart. Her parents preceded her in death, as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will be missed by her loving companion, Bob Anderson, and is also survived by her brothers, James G. (Marsha) Weaver of Fremont, Ohio, John R. (Diane) Weaver of Edmond, Oklahoma; and her sisters, Jane M.

(Gene) Orndorff of Fremont, Ohio and Jill P. (Bill) Sowers of Bellevue, Ohio. Other survivors include 9 nieces, (Bernadette, Cara, Carnie, Amy, Jackie, Jenny, Kristy, Patrice and Leslie) and 7 nephews (Art, Tony, Andy, Mike, Bill, Joel and Jake) and 11 great nieces (Lauren Lauren M. Sarah, Ryley, Emily, McKenna, Taylor, Kylie, Reagan, Mikaelin and Alise); and 11 great neph- ews (Reed, Ethan, Hunter, Jack, Drew, Art, Jace, Austin, Logan, Aaron and Callen), numerous cousins and her special Aunt and Uncle (Dick and Pat Escott) of Toledo, Ohio Judy was a Hospice volunteer for many years. Special thanks to (everyone who was there at the end).

Her life was en- riched by each and every one of you. Visitation will be from 11 a.m 1 p.m. Thursday, January 18, 2018, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Thursday.

Graveside Services and burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, in St. Joseph Cemetery in Fremont, OH. No flowers, please. Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice and Palliative Care, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, IN 46637, or the charity of the choice.

Martha was born on Aug. 4, 1924 in Toledo, a daughter of Louie and Theresa (Boris) Nagy. She worked as a surgical blade grinder at Crescent Manufacturing, retiring in 1986. Martha was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Fremont and enjoyed cooking, playing cards and reading. On Feb.

14, 1942, Martha married Fred Fisher in Toledo. They were married for over 63 years until his passing on Oct. 15, 2005. Surviving are children, Wayne (Marti) of Tarpon Springs, FL and Carl (JoAnn) of Fremont; son- in-law, Dale Kistler of Clyde; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grand- children. Martha is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Clara Kistler; and siblings Elizabeth Fisher and Louis George Nagy.

Graveside Committal Services will be held on Wednesday, Jan 17, 2018, beginning at 11 a.m. at West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Lee killed the deer while hunting on private land in Fremont with his mother, Jennifer Lee. On their fourth day out, about 12 doe and four buck came into view. was right before Jace said. smelled us and ran but then they came back to the bait Jace experienced a bit of buck fever a common response of excitement and nerves in hunters when a shot be- comes possible. was shaking.

Jace, Jennifer, and Joe returned about an hour later and followed a strong blood trail to quickly the deer about 100 yards from where it was shot. They hauled it back to their house, where the family skinned and cleaned it. From there, they took the deer to Ballville E-Z Shop, where Jennifer works, for processing. This winter, the family will enjoy venison steak, back strap and summer sausage. While it is not common for a 10-year- old to take a 10-point buck with a cross- bow, not unusual to see a member of the Lee family enjoying the outdoors.

The family hunts and together including ice and the kids of- ten spend time at the Sandusky River, which is across the street from their home. Hunting is good for kids, Jennifer said. teaches them patience. something kids need to she said. it teaches them respect for guns.

Mark Wayne Thompson, 50, of Pit- kin pleaded guilty to one count of de- lay or destruction of mail by a postal employee. Thompson admitted that instead of delivering the mail, he took it home from Dec. 1, 2016, until May 1, 2017, and burned it. He estimated he burned 20 tubs of mail.
