12 Fremont News-Messenger Thursday, August 19, 1971 0 .1. Inspection Team Reviews Clyde's New Reservoir L.r 1. 1 r.f'- Creek pumping station must be replaced. Melick pointed out that the repairs are the responsibility of the contractors completing the construction work and not the city of Clyde. The city manager could not estimate when the reservoir would be ready for an official opening ceremony but it is expected to be soon.

Taking part in yesterday's inspection were Melick and Clyde councilman Russ Stephenson, Dwight Adams, Housing and Urban Development area engineer, and Andy Spencer, representative of the Water Management Section of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Project Engineer Harold Mumaw and other officials were also part of the inspection team. CLYDE City, state and federal officials gathered in Clyde Wednesday afternoon for a final inspection of the new Beaver Creek Reservoir near Green Springs. Construction work at the huge water holding facility is complete according to Clyde City Manager Frank Melick. Visual inspection by the officials was necessary so that the reservoir can be certified by the federal government.

Once the project is certified, the reservoir and its operation will become the responsibility of the city of Clyde. Certification may be delayed slightly due to two minor problems discovered during the inspection yesterday. LAKESIDE Frank Guarrera, long a favorite of the Metropolitan Opera will sing the title role in the Italian opera Friday evening, August 27th at 8:15 p.m. in Hoover Auditorium. The costumed production has been produced and directed by the Lakeside Summer Symphony musical director, Robert L. Cronquist. Richard Knoll, a leading tenor from the Kansas City Opera will sing the part of the licentious duke.

Sara Margaret Raitch of Mansfield, will be appearing in the role of the Hunchback Rigoletto's daughter, Gilda. Verdi's "Rigoletto" is a tale of tragedy and death and is set in 16th century Mantua. The opera will also have in its cast, Richard Chamberlain, professor of music at Otterbein and Gene Seeberger, music teacher from Kettering, Ohio.
