UP The agriculture department was provided today with funds to keep going until the end of July and the way was cleared for a showdown on the administration's fight for authority to sell corn and wheat for feed at prices below parity. There were two new developments in the controversy which has held, congress deadlocked for months on the $680,000,000 farm appropriation for 1943. They were: 1. Approval by senate and house of temporary legislation giving the agriculture department, which has been technically without funds for a week, authority to start spending its 1943 funds, except for activities on which congress still is in disagreement. That measure awaits President Roosevelt's signature.

2. Passage by the senate of legislation authorizing the government to make loans at 100 per cent of parity to farmers cooperating in the agriculture department programs covering the 1942 basic crops. That bill went to the house. Sen. Richard B.

Russell, thought that the parity loan bill would aid his fight to retain for the government authority to sell surplus corn and 125,000,000 bushels of surplus wheat at 85 per cent of corn parity in effect, at about 83 cents a bushel for feeding livestock and producing alcohol for explosives and synthetic rubber, i Buy War Savlnga Bonda TOWNSEND CLUBS PLAN CONVENTION At least 25 members of the Fre phy, of Toledo, were Tuesday call of ten train loads of wrecked Nazi tanks was reported moving to the for the Civilian Defense Pa ers at the L.
